Scent description/story: My artistic nod to avoiding the Black Death.
According to legend, one of the best-known plague remedies was invented by a gang of burglars, who used it to steal from infested homes without fear of infection. Supposedly, when they were finally caught, they exchanged the recipe to the ‘four thieves vinegar’ for their freedom. While most doctors fled plague infested areas, the poor or altruistic few donned the eerie “plague masks” stuffed with herbs and oils in an attempt to purify the pestilential air.
My design incorporates colors reminiscent of oils, and is topped with hand sculpted coins and plague masks.
